Set in Wolfenbüttel's enchanting historic town market, the Christmas market has become over the last few years a special tip among those who love Christmas markets with the romantic atmosphere and stylish flair. The delightful wooden booths of the Christmas market in Wolfenbüttel look just like a little village of houses huddling in its historic market square. Lit by many lights, the Christmas market offers a range of activities particularly designed to delight children: daily calendar events, the mascots of the Christmas market “Wölfchen and Büttelchen” hand out sweets, fairy tales come to life, making visitors feel that this is the home of Christmas!
One special attraction is the tour of 21 brightly lit stands illustrating the theme of fairy tales. Additional handicraft markets also take place on the 1st weekend of Advent at the ducal palace and on the other weekends of Advent, in the Kommisse, which was once used as a school.
