Worth Seeing in Lüneburg
Lüneburg is an unmistakable place – a city with character. Its historic brick houses with their characteristic gables are fascinating. The square "Am Sande" is considered the most beautiful square in Northern Germany. Attractive sights are the medieval town hall, the three gothic churches and Lüne Monastery.
The dock area with the "Alter Kran" and many pubs is an inviting place to linger for a while. At the Deutsches Salzmuseum (German Salt Museum), the significance of salt to Lüneburg is shown in vivid images. Today, salt water is still in use, at the salt spa SaLü, a place for fun and relaxation. Apart from this, there is a multitude of shops for a shopping tour. Lüneburg is surrounded by the Lüneburg Heath and the meadows of the Elbe valley, Hamburg is only a good 30 miles away.
